Many people have unwanted habits. These can be a hangover from childhood or newer habits formed in adulthood or painful experiences in life and often stem from anxiety or stress, our way of reacting to fear.
We often think we will grow out of childhood habits and many people do, but some don’t.

Other habits are more complex such as excessive alcohol, recreational drugs and smoking.
Hypnotherapy is wonderful for those who need a little help to break these habits and form new healthier habits without a struggle.
Habits are actions that help us when we feel anxious, bored or uncomfortable. They give us feelings of safety. However, they can persist despite them being detrimental to your health, can be embarrassing and result in physical harm - infections of the skin or nail bed, bald patches, worn down teeth etc and negatively affect our mental health.
Habits are built in the subconscious mind, often over many years and often give immediate feelings of relief, satisfaction, and emotional comfort.
A desire or need to change isn’t always enough to break the cycle of a bad habit.
Clinical hypnotherapy helps to influence the subconscious mind to change these habits or behaviour into far more beneficial and self-affirming behaviours. It gives your mind a chance to experience some positive emotional intensity, as if you have actually achieved the changes which further helps your subconscious mind accept these new behaviours.
